Kick The Habit? It May Be Easier Than You Think!

Could electronic cigarettes be the the easiest way to kick the habit?

Despite the enforcement of smoking bans in public places in most countries worldwide, many smokers are still finding it difficult to kick the habit.

Many smokers who have tried but failed to quit smoking have at some point used nicotine replacement products such as patches, gum and even inhalers.

This unfortunately doesn’t replace the act of smoking which in itself can be a difficult habit to break. Many smokers, me included, not only crave the nicotine and all the rubbish they pile into a standard cigarette but also the actions associate with smoking.  Common scenarios such as enjoying a cigarette with a cup of coffee or after a good meal to name just a couple, can be habits that are just as difficult to conquer as the physical side effects. In effect we enjoy the act of smoking and more often pine for the act of smoking a cigarette long after the nicotine craving has gone.

This is where an electronic cigarette comes into its own.

What are Electronic cigarettes?

An electronic cigarette or e-cigarette consists of a cartridge which contains a nicotine solution, an atomizer, a battery which is located where the tobacco is found in a standard cigarette and finally an LED at the tip.

There are two main types of e-cig on the market today.  A 2 piece and a 3 piece cigarette.

3 Piece e-cigarette

As the name suggests, there are three separate parts to this e-cig. Some come with a small bottle of liquid nicotine which enables you to refill the cartridge when it runs out. The problem is refilling can be quite messy and awkward, even more so if the cartridge  happens to run out while you are out and about at work, driving, socialising, watching your team etc. The atomizers tend to clog up quickly which reduces performance and will need replacing which ultimately means more expense and inconvenience, so although refilling the cartridge can seem to be the cheaper alternative you will need to factor in the cost of replacement atomizers before buying.

2 Piece e-cigarette

The 2 part e-cigarette is the new kid on the block so to speak. More and more people are turning to these 2 piece e-cigs because of their ease of use and more realistic smoking experience. Each nicotine cartridge comes with its own atomizer meaning that every time the nicotine runs out all you need do is simply  unscrew it from the battery and fit a new cartridge and atomizer in one piece. No more clogged atomizers, no more messy refills…and a darn site easier when you happen to run out of nicotine when not in the comfort of your home.
